We went today for the ultrasound to find out what we are having and then in for a prenatal exam. Belle came with us since we really wanted to share this with her. She was as patient as could be expected through the ultrasound. She was so sweet. She thought that the ultrasound was hurting me and got worried until we assured her it wasn't hurting me or the baby at all. She was curious about the jelly they put on my stomach and couldn't help but touch it. Of course then she went "eeeewww!" because it was so slimey.
We found out we are having a little girl. I think Belle was thinking it was a boy, but she was very happy with a girl too.
After, we had an hour to kill between appointments so we went down to the starbucks there and got a drink. We let Belle call the grandparents and tell them the news. She was so cute and excited telling them. I even overheard two ladies in the cafe saying how cute Belle was.
We then went up to my doctor appointment. As we were waiting in the room Belle wanted so badly to lay on the table so we consented and she got to pretend to be me.
Belle got to meet Dr. Johannsen again. The last time Johannsen had seen Belle she was only 6 weeks old. We listened to the babies heartbeat and doctor gave me a good bill of health.
It was fun having Belle with us at this appointment. I don't know if she got how important it was but she seemed to have fun.
