Disneyland Trip Day 5

Today was our day to go home. We had time to kill before our flight so we met Linda and Mark in the Disney Market place for breakfast. Poor Belle was showing her exhaustion. She was sad to leave as were we all but it was obvious that she was ready for home and some down time.
After breakfast we did some shopping and then sadly said goodbye to Linda and Mark.

There was one last thing we had to do before we left however. Since day one Belle had been wanting ice cream. For one reason or another we kept not being able to get it. So today we made sure she got some ice cream... chocolate with sprinkles. :)

On the way back to the hotel to get the shuttle Belle got to chat with a bird and of course get one last dose of superpowers from Mickey's giant hat... what you ask? Oh well see if you stood under Mickey's hat and spin around you get magic powers... I thought everyone knew that. :)

We caught the shuttle buss back to the airport. It was an interesting ride. The buss diver was a character. Once we got on the way he announced that the stereo had been stolen. So I guess that meant it was his job to keep us entertained. He talked and talked and talked... ranted about all sorts of things. I was nervous a few times his monologue might cross a line. It didn't but it was annoying Belle. She leaned over to me several times and asked "Is he ever going to stop talking? It's driving me nuts!" :) I can't really say I blame her.
Finally we got there and got on our flight home. My mom and Brad were ahead of us and as Belle and I got on the plane she turned to the Flight Attendant and asked "can I drive the plane?" I tried to tell Belle quickly no that they don't let you do that any more (post-9/11 security and all that) but the Flight attendant said "You'll have to ask Captain Pete." So Belle turned to the man in the flight deck doorway and asked him if he was Captain Pete. He smiled and said yes. She repeated her question if she could drive the plane. He, to my surprise, "Sure!" He then ushered her into the flight deck and helped her into the pilot's seat. I cursed myself for not having my camera, but luckily had my cell phone camera. She sat there for a few minutes and talked to the Captain and then we went to our seats. Daddy and Gaga had wondered where we'd disappeared too and shared my surprise that Belle got to do that... I just shrugged, smiled, and said "Belle's super charisma strikes again I guess!" It was a nice ending to a great trip.
