Princess Leia-Belle

Belle is not totally into Star Wars. We'd shown her the movie before but she's now old enough to truly enjoy it. So we play Star Wars characters a lot around the house.
Well today as I picked her up from school a little boy yelled after her "Bye Princess Leia!" She yelled back, "Bye Luke!" Her teacher and I just chuckled.
On the ride home Belle asked to dress like Princess Leia and wondered what she could use for a dress. I suggested asking Daddy for a t-shirt. Well we got home and in the usual excitement of getting home we forgot. But after I'd gotten back to work she remembered and asked Daddy what she could use as a dress... luckily Daddy too thought of a t-shirt. SO, a Daddy t-shirt, a pirate belt, and some hair due help from Gaga and ta-da!! Daddy also dug up my Han Solo gun of mine. We're not real keen on guns as toys but we made a one time exception.
Daddy took pictures and a few videos of the little Princess. The second one I think is also amazing because you get to hear her count to 30... okay she still has some problems with missing poor 13 and 16 but she still made it to the end!
I can't say how seeing her dressed up like Princess Leia affected me... nostalgic is a word to describe it... big ole lump in throat is another. Dressing up as Star Wars characters was something I did a lot as a child. I was Princess Leia for Halloween at least once. Anyway... it was so sweet to see my daughter dressed up like this.
