But now onto the boys. Belle's 'boyfriend' almost all year has been Antonio. He's a very sweet kid and the two have been best buds and yes have a little crush on each other. :) It's super sweet. Well now there are not one but TWO other boys who got their eye on Belle. Nathaniel is the biggest issue for Antonio. :) Not really because Belle has been clear she likes Nathaniel but not as much as Antonio. But Nathaniel is sure a strong willed kid who is very aggressively trying to be Belle's new best bud. :) Apparently he and Antonio actually got into a fight today about who was going to play with Belle at recess. I witnessed the trio today with the boys trying to out do each other in Belle's presence.
Then there is Alexander. Another very sweet kid who couldn't be more obviously in puppy love with Belle! But he is SO painfully shy! :) It's very sweet.
To give you an idea of the dinamic this is how the party started. Belle sat down next to her friend Stephanie against the wall outside to chat with her and sign each other's year books. Alexander timidely sat next to her and said "hi Belle." She said hi back but then went back to her conversation with Stephanie. Then Antonio came over and sat down between Belle and Alexander even though there really was no room there and he basically had to push poor Alexander over. :) Than Nathaniel came over and said "Hey Belle... you want to get out of here and go play over in the sand area with me?" Belle says "Sure.. come on Antonio." Que a mostly hidden look of annoyance from Nathaniel at Antonio being brought along. Alexander then says "can I come?" Belle says "Yeah!" Que very happy look from Alexander.
They all go off to play. The best thing is that Belle runs the group. When did all this stuff start so young!? I don't remember this when I was in 3rd grade. We are sooo doomed come high school!
