This is just awesome! A little over a year ago we had Belle's IQ tested. The results came back very high, especially in the verbal testing (vocabulary, reading, and so on). The only problem at the time was that school work wise she was doing well but smack dab for her age group... but her test scores showed she could be doing far better. In other words, not living up to her potential. This was more or less said to be a result of her emotional and social challenges. For Belle learning how to be in a class room was her challenge, not the work itself.
So today she brought home the test results from her reading assessment. It was amazing! Her scores were well above the high standard, and in two areas it was double or almost triple the high standard! What this means to me is not just that she is an excellent reader (which is definitely is) but that she is making amazing progress with living up to that potential she is capable of! I am just SO happy and proud on so many levels!!!
Now this test was a state test, but she also brought home an in class reading achievement test which showed she had jumped 5 levels in reading since March! Her teacher commented on how well she is doing. Not just with reading but with everything.
So proud of my Belle. :)
